Today at Directions Asia 2026, hosted at Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel, the conversations across sessions, community discussions, and Microsoft keynotes highlighted one clear message:
The Business Central ecosystem has moved beyond asking whether AI will become part of ERP systems.
The focus is now on how AI can be implemented responsibly, governed effectively, and scaled across real enterprise environments.
Throughout the day, multiple sessions explored how AI is transforming:
- development productivity,
- operational efficiency,
- automation,
- governance,
- testing frameworks,
- and intelligent business processes.
One of the most rewarding experiences for me personally was demonstrating my Clarity AI Agent, audit and governance tools, and AI-driven validation approaches to members of the Business Central community.
The discussions with developers, consultants, architects, and ERP professionals were extremely insightful. Many conversations focused on how AI agents can practically support:
- code analysis,
- implementation governance,
- delivery quality,
- troubleshooting,
- intelligent validation workflows,
- and operational visibility.
What stood out most was the maturity of the ecosystem’s perspective on AI.
The conversation is no longer about simply adding AI capabilities. Instead, organizations are now evaluating AI through practical questions:
- Does it improve productivity?
- Does it reduce implementation risks?
- Can it integrate into existing delivery processes?
- Can it scale securely?
- Can it be governed properly?
Another strong theme across the conference was the growing importance of AI governance and TDD-driven development with agents. Multiple speakers emphasized that AI without testing, monitoring, validation, and governance can introduce significant enterprise risks.
One particularly interesting observation was how many sessions shared similar objectives from different perspectives. Rather than repetition, this reflected strong ecosystem alignment around the future direction of Business Central and enterprise ERP systems.
The recurring themes across Day 1 included:
- AI-assisted operations,
- governed automation,
- intelligent development workflows,
- scalable architectures,
- and enterprise-grade operational visibility.
The energy across the community has been incredibly positive, and it is clear that the ecosystem is entering a major transformation phase where AI becomes an operational layer rather than just an experimental feature.
Looking forward to more sessions, discussions, and insights in the coming days at Directions Asia 2026.
